CENSUS 1801 (Ellerup, Gjern, Skanderborg S474)823 age 15.
At his marriage in 1810, he is listed as being from Ellerup, she from Horn.
CENSUS 1834 (Horn, Tvilum, Skanderborg S473)568 age 48.

No other children in Tvilum from 1805-1834
Middle name appears to have come from his maternal grandmother. In some sources it is rendered as “Høeg”.
Note re: family of origin: This was the only family with a Peder Laursen Bastrup (of the right age) found on the 1787 census in Skanderborg, which is where Peder Laursen Bastrup reported himself as being born in the 1845 Census (Horn, Tvilum).
There is another Peder Laursen age 1 in 1787, also living in Lauen, Linå, Gjern, parents Lauritz Rasmusen and Anne Andersdatter. It would be unlikely that our Peder would pick up the surname Bastrup if he was from this family. Our Peder is referred to as Bastrup on all adult census documents as well as in all the christening records of his children.
