vaccinated at age “1/4” along with a sister, Johanne Caroline Marie Sørensen (age 3-1/4) on 17 Jun 1831 in Thorning (17 Jun 1831 n 1-2 S25)1055. Father is Hans Ravn Sørensen.
Thorning Afgangs Liste (1832 n 21-28 S22)1056 shows departure with family from Knudstrup, Thorning to Nim Sogn, Skanderborg (1832 n 7-14 S571)1057 in 1832 age 1. On 13 Apr 1833 they moved again, from Nim (Nim Afgangs Liste 1833 n 4-10 S571)1048 to Vejle Sogn. Notably, at this time Else Mathilde did not move with them, so we know that she moved to live with her god-parents in Thorning sometime between 1832 and spring 1833.
In 1834 and after, Else Mathilde Sørensen was living with Peder Lassen (1802) and first Ane Marie Pedersen, then Ane Birgithe Jensen Levring.
CENSUS 1834 (Graae, Thorning, Viborg S376)102 age 3.
In the 1845 Census, Else Mathilde was listed as “Pleiebarn; søsterdatter af Huusfaderens 1ste Kone”. Therefore, we know that she is the daughter of Ane Marie’s sister.

No record found to explain her foster-child status. Her parents and siblings appear on the 1834 Census living in Vejle, Uden for Byen, and a new younger sister has been added to the family.
Her confirmation record in 1845 (Thorning, Viborg S7)1058 shows her residence as Graagaard and confirms her birthdate, parents’ names and foster-daughter status with the Lassen family. Father is from Knudstrup, mother’s birthplace appears to be “Weiler” (Vejle?).
Age 34 at the time of her marriage in Bregnet (Bregnet, Randers S573),1054 father listed as “Hans Sørensen i Knudstrup.”
