Some of Asta’s ancestors came from Todbjerg. The church was built in the 1100’s to replace a wooden church on the same site. The nave and the choir are from the 1100’s, with the arches and vestibule added in the 1400‘s. The small bell tower dates from 1772, and the larger tower from 1854.
