OLD SETTLER DIES SUNDAY
MARTIN RASMUSSEN PASSED AWAY AT HIS HOME ON NORTH WALKER AvENUE, BLAIR
Martin Rasmussen, a resident of this county for over 52 years, died at his home on north Walker avenue, this city, at about 7:30 last Sunday evening of heart trouble, following an illness of about two months.
The funeral service was held at the house at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Larson, of Kennard, officiating. Burial was in Prairie view cemetery, down between Kennard and Washington, near his old home, where four children are buried.
Deceased was born at Horn, Denmark, August 2, 1855, so was 72 years of age last August. He came to this country in 1875 and settled on a farm near Washington, this county. Later he moved onto a farm nearer Kennard, which was his home for many years. March 4th, 1918, he moved to this city.
He was married to Anna Marguerite Rasmussen in this city on Nov. 28th, 1884. Twelve children were born to them, four of whom preceded him in death. The living are Anna, Mrs. Bengt Hasselstrom, of Cedar Bluffs, Neb., Trena, Mrs. C. Andersen, Anna, Mrs. J.L. Andersen, and Helene, Mrs. Chas. Misfeldt, all of Kennard. Rasmus, Hertha, Einn and Elmer lived at home.
Besides the wife and children he leaves eleven grandchildren. He was the last of a family of five children, four boys and one girl.
